Spoken word open mic, open deck, doodle & chill and art exhibition for Lancashires creatives to meet, support each other and hang out.
Preston is one of the worst funded city's in England for creatives with around £2 of Arts Council funding per resident compared with £52 per resident in Manchester.
There are some fantastic artists, writers, painters, musicians, creatives, festivals, actors, performers and events in this city and the surrounding areas. The past year has seen a lot of helpful meetings about culture but we're creatives, we procrastinate, show up late or not at all and we're easily distracted. Meetings are all well and good but why cant we just hang out?
For over a year, Preston DJ Social, The S-Werd and Art & Joy have been setting up events for poets, artists and DJs of all abilities and backgrounds to meet, express themselves, support each other and make friends. On Sunday May 18th we're going to throw them all at the same time in the same space and bring our friends.
Art exhibition, open deck, spoken word open mic and doodle & chill across three studios and a terrace at ARTCH studios in Preston. We're also having wood fire pizza and it's free to attend.
