Now in its second year, NWIFF is a celebration of British short films from all over the UK, with a curated programme of screenings taking place in June in Preston.
The North West Independent Film Festival (NWIFF) was launched in 2025 to fill a cultural gap in the city of Preston, Lancashire.
Now in its second year, NWIFF is a celebration of British short films from all over the UK, with a curated programme of screenings taking place in June.
The 3 core aims of the festival are:
1. To showcase innovative and thought-provoking British shorts
2. To be accessible for filmmakers and audiences alike
3. To champion emerging voices in the art-form of filmmaking.
There are two submission categories:
- Short Films (Documentary) and Short Films (Fiction)
Screenings take place in June 2026 - more information to follow closer to the time.
Submit your short film for consideration by 30th April 2026. (Submission fee of £10 applies).
