Escape2Make Heritage Festival at Clitheroe Castle Museum

Young people aged 11–18 can take part in a variety of creative workshops, offering the chance to develop new skills, explore local heritage stories and get creative for free during the 2026 summer holidays.

Free drop-in activities include:

  • Driftwood boats - Amy Gunawan
  • Lino Printing - Hannah Gregory
  • Gargoyles - Rachel Allsop
  • Natural Weaving - Caz Welch
  • Make your Mascot - Abby Kilfedder
  • Froggy Familiars - Rosie Tacon-Glass

The Escape2Make Heritage Festival is a Lancaster-based project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The festival aims to connect young people with their local heritage through creative activities inspired by the stories, people and places that shape their communities.

Alongside an exciting programme taking place across Lancaster and Morecambe this summer, the festival will also visit six satellite locations across Lancashire and Cumbria. Clitheroe Castle Museum is delighted to be one of these venues, helping to bring heritage-inspired creativity to new audiences across the region.

Participation in the festival is free and museum admission is not required to take part. However, if you would like to explore the museum during your visit, all young people aged 18 and under receive free admission. Adult admission is £4.55.

We look forwarding to seeing you soon.
