Esme Young and Patrick Grant, judges of the hugely popular BBC 2 series The Great British Sewing Bee, join us for one very special afternoon at the National Festival of Making.
Esme Young is an English fashion designer and television presenter who began her career in the 1980s by opening the iconic fashion shop Swanky Modes in Camden. Esme makes costumes for film, including hit titles including The Beach, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet and Trainspotting.
Patrick Grant is an award-winning Scottish fashion designer with a career spanning almost two decades. An outspoken advocate for radical change in the fashion and clothing industry, Patrick has spoken for Ted Talks, written for many newspapers and magazines and is currently penning his second and third books.
