This work arose from a thought one day, when considering the impact of penal treadmills and their use in the punishment of homosexual men, in the nineteenth century.
The concept developed into a juxtaposition comparing the penal treadmill to some aspects of modern yet harmful health culture, particularly in the gay male community, where bodily aesthetic is privileged.
