Obscura Collective 'Another Perspective' Exhibition 2024
Saturday 20th July 2024 12:00 PM to Saturday 3rd August 2024 12:00 PM
The Bureau Centre for the Arts, Blackburn, BB1 7JN

This exhibition brings together the work of Orrin Saint-Pierre and Calum Heywood, who run the Obscura Collective, alongside a group exhibition of past participants.

Calum Heywood's work - 'The Witton Project' - centres around the Witton Park Greenhouse project, based in Blackburn. The work captures the Zeigeist of a growing season, from summer solstice to winter solstice 2023, focusing on the community involved in the greenhouse project.
Orrin Saint Pierre's work - 'In Presence of Still Water' - is an exploration of the eclectic mix of people that choose to make the waterways their home, which intersect between nature and the man-made.
Thursdays 25th July and 1st August the exhibition will be open from 5-7pm and Orrin Saint Pierre will be available to show you round, answer questions about his work and his hand bound book will be available to view. On Saturday 3rd August (the final day) Calum will be available from 11-2pm
There is also a programme of workshops alongside the exhibition, including:
- Sunday Community Photowalks
- Cynotype Sun-Print Drop ins
- Build your Own Pinhole Camera
- Zinemaking with 0.08 Imprints
- Experimental Emulsion Lifts

Obscura Collective, formerly Obscura Darkroom, has been housed at and supported by The Bureau since 2015 and we are very proud of the achievement of these young artists and this showcase of their talent. They are both emerging into the world of work and this would also be an ideal opportunity to discuss future collaborations and commissions with them.
