Make Do Drink is delighted to bring you our second workshop collaboration – Make Do Drink; Pour.

A Hand-Poured Soy Candle Workshop hosted in partnership with Old Man & Magpie Candle Co.

We love the whole Hygge vibe an open flame and a luscious smell can bring to your home! The Old Man & Magpie Candle Co make hand poured candles using only 100% pure natural soy wax, phthalate free essential and fragrance oils, cotton wicks and beautiful apothecary style recyclable amber glass jars. 

They are a Scandi design dream, smell amazing, and the perfect addition to any home! 

This workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn some tricks of the candle making trade! We'll start the session off with a glass of something marvellous, then our expert maker will talk you through wick and container considerations, picking the perfect scent, and how to hand pour your own soy candles to take away. Each guest will leave with 2 of their own hand poured candles, one 180ml and one 60ml (So maybe one for you.....and one for a friend. Or maybe not........?!)  

Each workshop is 2 hours, so there will be plenty of time to ask our expert questions and produce something that smells incredible! There will be a selection of unique fragrance oils to choose from when pouring your own candles, meaning you will be taking home a bespoke smell you can't usually buy from Old Man & Magpie. (There will also be the opportunity to pick up some of the OM&MCC favourites as well.)

We think Winedown is the perfect match for this workshop, and if you haven't already been to this unique underground bar, then what have you been doing! Hiding in a cellar on Lancaster Road, Winedown is an quirky, atmospheric space, with the biggest drinks menu you'll find in PR1. They also have a killer deli counter, so we'll be making sure there are a couple of delicious platters available for our guests to get stuck into while they wait for their candles to set.

The workshop sessions are the perfect way to spend an evening with friends, family, or even focusing on some well-deserved 'me' time. All workshop groups will be small, and the casual settings make them the perfect place to meet new people and have some fun.

A step by step guide from our expert maker and everything you need to get hands on and pour your own 
Unique scents from Old Man & Magpie created just for this partnership; Sweet Orange Coconut, Rhubarb Gin, Lemon Chello, Espresso Martini, Blueberry & Vanilla, Raspberry 
1 x 180ml candle 
1 x 60ml candle
