We Are Gathered Here Together | Fitzrovia Chapel, London
Private View | Thurs 10 October, 6-9pm
Exhibition | Fri 11 - Tues 15 October 2024.
Originally commissioned by The National Festival of Making 2024 for Art in Manufacturing, work in the exhibition was developed as part of a residency with the Making Rooms, a place where creativity, technology and advanced manufacturing come together in a community facility for use by artists, inventors, students, children to design and make anything from high-tech products and gadgets to toys, artworks, home decorations and accessibility devices.
The exhibition was presented in Blackburn Cathedral this summer as part of the National Festival of Making weekend. Now touring to London, come and explore three of the life events and special occasions so important to the artist: births, weddings and deaths.
Horace Lindezey has been a practicing artist and maker at Venture Arts for over 30 years, working predominantly in ceramics and textiles. Central to his practice is the theme of ceremony, from the dates we were born, to the celebration of marriage and the day we die. This exhibition invites you to enter Lindezey’s world and experience his unique perspective of how he connects people, time and place.
Join us for the private view event on Thursday 10 October and enjoy refreshments and speeches. Please RSVP by directly emailing comms@venturearts.org
