Festival of Archeology 2024
Thursday 11th July 2024 to Saturday 27th July 2024
Clitheroe Castle

From 11 to 27 July there's talks, tours, workshops, hands-on kids activities and an amazing line up of guests for the Festival of Archeology in Clitheroe.

This theme for this year's Festival of Archaeology is Archeology & Community.
There are events happening across 11th to 27th July and join us for a special celebration day in the festival hub on Saturday 20th July.
On the Community Hub Day on 20th July, you will get the chance to meet local archaeologists and experts who will be on hand to answer your questions and share their knowledge.
There will be specialists in a range of eras from prehistory all the way to the industrial era, and in a variety of fields like artefact conservation and archaeological technologies. Find out how community archaeologists are contributing to our knowledge about the Romans in the Ribble Valley, get hands-on and learn how to do First-Aid for Finds with our conservators, listen to students tell you what it's like to study archaeology at university, find out what new insight we have about life at Clitheroe Castle since new archaeological work has been done at the keep, and much more!
