The first round of British Council's Connections Through Culture mobility grant programme is open until 26th September 2019. It aims to develop exciting cultural exchanges and collaborations between arts communities in East Asia and the UK.

Travel Opportunities via Connections Through Culture

Celebrating the diverse cultural expression in both regions, the programme offers support, information, advice and networking opportunities for professional development for artists, arts professionals and arts organisations, from East Asia and the UK.

Grantees both from the UK and the East Asian countries benefit from the inspiration gained from exchanging ideas and sharing their cultural history.

About the Mobility Grant

Up to £2,500 development grant for individual artists or professionals from the UK wishing to visit any of the six Southeast Asian countries that are part of the programme

Up to £3,500 development grant for individual artists or professionals from any of the six Southeast Asian countries that are part of the programme wishing to visit the UK

Up to £5,000 collaboration grant for representatives of groups in any of the six Southeast Asian countries that are part of the programme wishing to visit the UK, and for representatives of groups in the UK to visit any of the six Southeast Asian countries that are part of the programme
Eligibility criteria
 
Connections Through Culture is established to provide small grants to assist residents of the UK, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam from the following groups:

  • Artists
  • Cultural and arts professionals
  • Representatives of art collectives, networks or organisations

Grants are offered to those who work in the following areas: drama, dance, visual arts, literature, film, music, architecture, design and fashion.

Deadlines and how to apply:
 
The first round of the call is open from 26 August to 26 September 2019 and results will be communicated on 28 October 2019.

Grant travel should be between January to March 2020.
