NORTHERN MUSIC AWARDS: Nominations for Music and Culture for Wellbeing Award

Nordoff & Robbins Northern Music Awards - Music & Culture for Wellbeing Award

Britain’s leading music charity, Nordoff and Robbins is turning up the volume with some of the biggest stars and rising talent from the North of England. The awards will raise awareness and funds of the work of the charity and for more northern people to have access to the transformative power of music therapy.

The Northern Music Awards is building upon a proud and impassioned Northern legacy. Celebrating the best of the industry’s venues, festivals and management and music makers themselves across breakthrough and legendary talent.

There will be 14 awards given out at a star-studded show on Thursday November 30th in Manchester.

The Music and Culture for Wellbeing Award will recognise outstanding, creative health projects in the North that support people with health, wellbeing, and socio-economic issues.

As Greater Manchester is working towards being in the UK's first creative health city-region it seemed appropriate for year one of the awards that this award is in partnership with GMMC.

Nominations for the Music and Culture for Wellbeing Award must be a ‘project’. This could be a standalone or multi agency collaboration.

They will be original, innovative, creative enterprises with music and people at the heart of their purpose. They’ll make a lasting, positive impact on participants, enriching their lives by harnessing the power of culture and creativity.

The Music and Culture for Wellbeing award will demonstrate best practice in the North, to show to the rest of the country and world trailblazing music and creative health initiatives from the region.

Nordoff and Robbins Music Therapy Charity will be delighted to accept two nominations from each region - for projects that took place between June 01 2022-June 30 2023.

The music and culture focussed projects must have taken place in the North of England, facilitated by a Northern organisation, and for the benefit of Northern people.

Please submit your nomination with a brief evaluation of the impact of the project. (No more than 500 words per entry.)

Please also include examples of how the nominated project demonstrates Nordoff and Robbins’ beliefs and values. (No more than 650 words.)

  1. Music and culture can shape social bonds and community.
  2. The project demonstrates accessibility and consideration given to groups who have limited access to music and culture.
  3. The project environment has been considered and is responsive to the needs to the groups the project serves.
