New 'Talent' Programme helps Lancashire women start a career in Digital Marketing

Funded by the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund and delivered by Buzzstart, the Talent Programme is a free 12 week online programme which launches in January. It's for women living in Greater Manchester and Lancashire and is aimed at training our future digital workforce. Applications close on 3rd January 2021.

New 'Talent' Programme helps Lancashire women start a career in Digital Marketing

Talent is a free 12-week (part-time) work experience programme designed to fast-track women into full-time employment with partner employers in Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

The programme delivered by Buzzstart Academy and is funded by the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund, a joint venture between the DCMS, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Lancashire Digital Skills Partnership. The fund was developed to address locally identified digital skills gaps.

Talent is a combination of the best learnings from Google and Facebook's global award-winning programmes, and delivered by leading digital expert trainers. It is being offered specifically to women, 19 years and over, living in Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Participants will learn about Digital Marketing, Innovation and Leadership in a remote classroom and put their skills into practice within a virtual simulated social enterprise - Digital Skills for Women CIC.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The programme covers remote training in Digital Marketing, Innovation and Leadership, with the intention of filling open digital job roles. It is a mix of 12 weeks teaching, work experience and training with 40 other women on a virtual simulated business with guaranteed job interviews at the end. The group of seven teams will ideate, launch, market and grow a social enterprise business, “Digital Skills for Women” with training, support and guidance.

CRITERIA

  • You must be a woman, and 19 years of age or over
  • UK citizen with legal rights to live and work in the UK
  • Resident of Lancashire or Greater Manchester
  • Committed to 12 weeks of a flexible, part-time programme starting Monday 4th January
  • Daily regular access (with little distraction) to a computer with a good internet connection

DEADLINES:

Applications must be submitted by 1pm on Sunday 3rd January 2021.

Programme start date: Monday 4th January 2021.
