Happy Holidays - Festive Message

20 December 2019

Thank to all our members and partners for your continued support, commitment and a wonderfully creative 2019. We look forward to connecting and collaborating with you again in the New Year.

Happy Holidays - Festive Message

2019 was a remarkable and pivotal year for the creative industries of the county.

Highlights included the third edition of the National Festival of Making and the inaugural British Textile Biennial, both highly special events bringing visitors to the county in the thousands.

On 27 November the county officially launched it's bid and dynamic concept to host UK City of Culture. Lancashire 2025 re-imagines the county, positioning it as a virtual city with a bold new vision for culture, commerce and creative communities. Creative industries practitioners and organisations will be key in realising this exciting and innovative vision as part of the journey towards the bid.

Meanwhile our agencies delivered stunning projects for clients ranging from special effects for major BBC productions to national campaigns and television adverts for major car manufacturers. Our artists, curators and festival producers were again recognised at national awards.

In a packed year we also piloted our new business support programme and toolkit, Creative Step, and during the autumn we launched our new website – take a look!

Along the way we've had the pleasure of working with some amazing creative talent in the county and collaborating with national key sector bodies and institutions on a range of projects to connect creatives in Lancashire to opportunities elsewhere. The results have been staggering.

On the behalf of Creative Lancashire and our board, I would like to thank all our members and partners for your continued support, commitment and a wonderfully creative 2019. We look forward to connecting and collaborating with you again.

Our festive message was created by Wash in collaboration with the team at Hotfoot. You can view the animated version here.

We hope you enjoy the Holidays and that the New Year is filled with health, inspiration and great creativity.
