Mark's townscape paintings include local urban landscapes created as multimedia pictures of bridges, roads, canals, industrial buildings, rooftops, traffic, street signs and building sites, especially building sites.
"Buildings tend to interest me more as subject matter when they are being constructed or demolished. I want to find beauty in the mundane something fresh and interesting in the everyday life of towns and cities."
Mark is a studio-based painter, who graduated in 1990 from the Norwich School of Art. After spending many years working as a freelance artist, travelling to many different countries around the world, he is now living and working in Lancashire.
As well as painting and developing his own creative practice, he has spent the last 25 years working as a Lecturer of Art and Design and coordinating the Year Two UAL Level 3 Art and Design Course at Blackburn College.
Mark has had his work shown in various exhibitions locally between 2006 to now. These include solo and group shows in Germany, Blackburn Museum and Gallery, Blackburn College and The Bureau previously.
