A textile exhibition created by the talented northern members of the British Tapestry Group, comprising a series of tapestries hand-woven in a diverse range of styles & techniques.
The work has been created by tapestry artists at all levels, from renowned professionals to more recent converts to this historic medium. The work in the exhibition reflects the textile heritage of the north of England, from the links of the River Tees to carpet making, linen weaving and textile dyeing, to the heritage of weaving cotton in Lancashire Mills and Cottonopolis, wool production and sheep farming across the hills and dales, and the architectural and artistic legacy of the Mill buildings themselves.
The exhibition is free to attend and forms part of the Art History Festival 2025.
