Edge Hill University is hosting a series of installations on campus from 1st to 31st October 2026 in celebration of Black History Month.
Black History Month UK 2026 is celebrating “Honouring Our Communities”, recognising the everyday contributions, leadership, resilience, and achievements of Black individuals, groups, and organisations that help shape and strengthen communities across the UK.

Stronger As One
Main Corridor, Main Building
The gallery celebrates Black culture, coming together as one community, anti-racism movement and thriving in the face of adversity.
These images aim to highlight how being one community can help us to grow together, to learn and understand our differences but also recognise what ties us together.
HAIR
Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine
Heritage Attitude Identity and Respect exhibition on display in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine building. The exhibition will look to explore the significance and power of Black Hair throughout history which has come to symbolise heritage, community and strength.
Community & Inclusion

The exhibit is a piece of work that emerged from workshops encouraging staff and students to speak about their lived experiences. The gallery celebrates Black culture, coming together as one community, anti-racism movements and thriving in the face of adversity.
Film Viewings:
Students and staff can also stream more than 3,000 films for free with Kanop and this Black History Month, they've created a specially curated collection sharing powerful stories celebrating Black history, culture and experiences.
