After the Archive: Signal x Grundy Exhibition
Saturday 18th October 2025 to Monday 20th October 2025
The Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool
After the Archive is a new exhibition presented by Signal Film Media and Grundy Art Gallery, showcasing emerging artistic voices from Barrow and Blackpool.
This multi-disciplinary group show brings together two intergenerational cohorts of artists, archivists, community workers and young explorers, all responding to the extraordinary Sankey Photography Archive – a treasure trove of life in the North West spanning more than 70 years.
Guided by artists Jackson Brown and Tina Dempsey, participants have spent the past year exploring the archive and creating deeply personal, imaginative, and thought-provoking works that reflect the people, places, and stories found within.
Part of Signal's Sankey: Lives Through the Lens, Signal’s Heritage Fund Project. Also funded by Arts Council England and Blackpool Council and Association of Independent Museums (Aim).
Experience the archive reimagined in this exhibition on show from 18th October to 20th December 2025
Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4.45pm. (Please note: last admission to the gallery is 4.20pm)
