Lancashire Forum Creative X Fraser House: Think Tank: Better Together? (Digital Communities and Ecosystems)
Thursday 30th June 2022 04:30 PM to 08:30 PM
Fraser House Hub, South Road, Lancaster, LA1 4XQ
Lancashire Forum Creative invites you to Fraser House for a round-table discussion on different types of business communities.
Humans are social creatures. We crave company and companionship. This applies to us whether we work alone or in an organisation so what are the options for creative and digital SMEs who want to develop? For some, taking on more staff, expanding horizons and thinking big is the right direction. For others, staying small and agile, working with sub-contractors and freelancers might work best. Co-working spaces like Fraser House provide the space and the opportunities to work with others whilst remaining flexible but does that also mean when the pressure is on you can rely on those ad hoc relationships?
There is no one-size-fits-all approach so what are the pros and cons of different models and different kinds of communities or ecosystems?
Drawing on the experiences of some of Lancashire’s most established practitioners this Think Tank takes the format of a round-table discussion and invites audience members to engage directly with people who have run businesses big and small, worked collaboratively and researched business communities. It will help you explore what growth might look like, your strategic planning, and which direction is right for your business.
Our panel members are Dom Williams, formerly Creative Director at Fat Media, now of DigiTap; Lynsey Thompson, MD of Wash Studio; and UCLan academic Dr Adrian Wright, whose research looks at community and network-building. Each has explored collaboration, communities and growth and has a different story to tell.
