Exhibition: Towards Memorial and Mo(nu)mentaries by Yuen Fong Ling

These new works by artist Yuen Fong Ling occupy the contemporary & permanent exhibition gallery spaces, and include objects, film, photography, mixing artworks & artefacts.
Artist Yuen Fong Ling brings together the latest iteration of the project TOWARDS MEMORIAL, gifting sandals to Bury’s LGBTQI+ community and its champions, and MO(NU)MENTARIES, exploring ideas of public memorial using postcards and re-presenting the permanent collections through themes of feet, footwear, protest and public space.
The new works occupy the contemporary and permanent exhibition gallery spaces, and include objects, film, photography, mixing artworks and artefacts, including pieces from Bury Art Museum’s collection.
Join us for a drink to celebrate the opening Saturday 16 October, 14.00-16.00, all welcome. Both curator Kat Au and artist Yuen Fong Ling will be around throughout the afternoon.

About the artist Yuen Fong Ling is an artist, researcher, and lecturer based in Sheffield. His practice explores issues of intersectional identities, historical omission, non-permanent forms of public memorial, and socially engaged art practice, as the artist, model, and curator. yuenfongling.com
