Super Slow Way - Pennine Lancashire

Something new and exciting is about to happen in Pennine Lancashire.

Something led by the people who live here. Something that will change the way we look at things. Something inspired by the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

Imaginie great family days out, amazing events, international exchanges – something new to inspire and motivate all. Super Slow Way will bring local people and amazing artists together. Embark on a creative adventure, discovering new things to do, see and be part of.

The Adventure has begun

As part of the community engagement process for Super Slow Way, there are also organised visits to inspirational arts events around the country.

So far there have been trips to:

  • Lumiere in Durham
  • Giant Spectacular in Liverpool
  • Stockton River Festival
  • Liverpool Biennial

The first of these free visits took place on the 16th November and was to Lumiere in Durham. Further trips will be organised in the new year, and if you are interested in coming, all you have to do is register your interest in Super Slow Way and you will be emailed details when they are available.

With a £2m investment from Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places fund, Super Slow Way will be developed by local people, local businesses and leading arts producers. The Leeds & Liverpool Canal, running from Blackburn to Pendle, will be at the heart of our wonderful journey.

The 3-year programme is inspired by three themes:

Creative – Freeing imaginations
People – Community visions made real
Places – Inspirational Pennine Lancashire
