Inter-national Networks & Local Landscape

26-28 February 2014. A three day symposium exploring the effects of inter-national art networks upon local landscapes and communities. Presenting, and generating discussion around the role of artists in the continuing development of place, speakers include the internationally acclaimed artist, Rick Lowe, of Project Row Houses, Texas; writer and social anthropologist, Virginia Whiles; the independent (inter)national Research Facility, Art Gene; artist and researcher Elaine Speight, In Certain Places and artist Research Fellow at MIRIAD, MMU, Alnoor Mitha.  The symposium is free and takes place over three days, in Brierfield and Preston.
