The Creative Employment Programme supports the creation of traineeships, formal apprenticeship and paid internship opportunities in England for young unemployed people aged 16-24 wishing to pursue a career in the arts and cultural sector.

  • Create meaningful high quality work opportunities for young employment people aged 16-24 years with a view to long term employment prospects
  • Contribute to the long term diversification of the arts and cultural workforce by creating a wider range of routes through which young people can enter the creative sector
  • Lead a change in recruitment culture to ensure those with the most potential can access work in our sector regardless of previous educational attainment


  • Apprenticeships – you must be currently unemployment and be aged 16 -24 years (some vacancies will be specified targeted at 16 –17 years).
  • Internships – you must currently be unemployed and be registered with the Job Centre Plus and aged 18-24 years.


All apprenticeship vacancies are advertised through the National Apprenticeship Service, to search for a vacancy search under key word and type "creative" and select location as Lancashire.  More information

All internships vacancies are advertised through Job Centre Plus, they will not appear on the Job Centre Plus website but each local Job Centre will have details of the vacancies.
