Call for Artists - Deadline Extended

Deadline for Edible Masterpieces extended

Artist Call

Green Close's first showcase will be a unique profiling event held in August-September for individual artist to exhibit their work in various locations around Clitheroe Town Centre.

Work will be exhibited in venues including Longitude Gallery, Ribble Valley Art Studios and the Platform Gallery and will coincide with the renowned Clitheroe Food Festival, held on 9th August.

Artists are being invited from across Bowland to submit artworks for a series of curated exhibitions, showcasing high quality artwork found within and inspired by the area and to make fun, quirky Edible Masterpieces, (artworks made from edible materials) that will be showcased alongside their work.

Artists are often inspired by their surroundings, helping visitors to see their environment in new and unusual ways. Edible Masterpieces will profile artists' creativity and also identify their relationship with the landscape that inspires local, high quality food production.

The second showcase will be an open exhibition titled 'Bowland Revelead' held at The Platform Gallery in Clitheroe from January-April 2015 and other gallery venues around Bowland. An Artists' Call Out with further information on this exhibition will follow later in the year. The winner of the Edible Masterpieces will have the chance to showcase their work at this exhibition.

The deadline for the Edible Masterpieces Showcase has been extended to Sunday 13th July, 2014.
