Back Back

Bury Art Museum's newest exhibition, managed and curated by Mark Mcleish, showcases a holistic and identified concern for sustainability within the field of art jewellery.

Exhition - Past, Present, Future 3

'How can jewellery challenge and contribute to the language of sustainability?'

'What are the conversations about sustainably triggered by the jewels we make?'

'Where are the questions in our practice about sustainability? And how do they have a connected relationship with the making, methods and materials we use?'

Past – Present – Future is an exhibition which showcases a holistic and identified concern for sustainability within the field of art jewellery.

The exhibition awakens the unseen, the forgotten, the discarded and the behind-the-scenes traces in materiality from the museum. Creating a spirited archive of an archive of a history of touch, this residual energy helps to narrate nonverbally the change of context for the exhibitions focus.

Three works are exhibited from each of the 20 selected Precious Collective members. One each for the categories Past, Present and Future.

Precious Collective is ...

A celebration of Art Jewellery; showcasing this art form to new audiences.
